Kathmandu: The government has put forth recommendations for ambassadors to 18 different countries. This decision was made during today's Council of Ministers meeting, as confirmed by Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Raj Kumar Gupta.
Shankar Sharma has been recommended for continuity as Nepal's Ambassador to India, reflecting the government's satisfaction with his performance and the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic ties with a key neighbor. Similarly, Lok Darshan Regmi has been recommended for the United States of America, highlighting the strategic importance of the relationship with one of the world's most influential nations.
In addition to these ambassadorial appointments, the government has decided to recall ambassadors from five countries, although the specific countries were not disclosed. This move is part of a broader diplomatic reshuffle aimed at enhancing Nepal's international relations and ensuring that the nation's diplomatic corps is aligned with its current foreign policy objectives.
Furthermore, the cabinet meeting has resulted in the transfer of 22 secretaries, a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at improving governance and bureaucratic efficiency. Such transfers are often used to place officials in roles where their skills and experiences can be best utilized, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of government operations.
The meeting also saw the decision to recall the province chiefs from Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. Yadav Chandra Sharma from Bagmati, Amik Sherchan from Lumbini, and Tilak Pariyar from Karnali were recalled from their posts. These changes indicate the government's intention to bring new leadership to these provinces, possibly to address specific regional challenges or to implement new policies more effectively. Minister Gupta added that these decisions are part of the government's ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance diplomatic and administrative efficiency.
